Podcast BytesIn the last episode, I emphasized the importance of understanding your goal. In order to know if your podcast is working, you have to know where you are going.

There are several ways you can determine the success of your podcast and whether it has a positive return on investment.

I wrote the article “9 Ways to Determine ROI of Your Podcast,” to answer these questions.

Remember, the success of your podcast is relative to your goal. That said, there are a number of foolproof ways you can determine your podcast’s return on investment.

  1. Number of downloads.
  2. Sponsorship and Ad Revenue.
  3. Podcast Reviews.
  4. Site Traffic and Conversions.
  5. Email sign-ups, Open-rates, and Engagement.
  6. Networking and Referrals.
  7. Relationship Building.
  8. Generating or Repurposing Content.
  9. Learning and Education.
  10. It’s fun!

How do you determine if your podcast is worth it? More isn’t always better. I’ve seen very successful podcasts with a small audience of dedicated followers. Sometimes, it’s the people you meet. Sometimes, it’s the money you make or the opportunity your podcast produces. Regardless, I encourage you to know why you are doing it and so that you can measure if it is worth it.

I’ll answer the question “How do I get more listeners?” on the next episode! Meet you there!
